With over a decade of experience in providing drone solutions for infrastructure, utilities, and large-scale facilities, Team UAV has built a reputation for reliability, safety, and precision. Establishing a base at Barton Aerodrome, a key aviation hub, aligns perfectly with the company’s commitment to operational excellence and innovation.
Barton Aerodrome is a fantastic location for our new Manchester hub. It places us in the heart of the region, with easy access to key industries that can benefit from our drone technology. Our shared aviation environment makes it the perfect place to expand our operations.
A Historic Aviation Landmark
Barton Aerodrome holds a significant place in British aviation history. Established in 1930, it was the first purpose-built municipal airport in the UK and served as Manchester’s primary airport until the opening of Ringway Airport (now Manchester Airport) in 1938.
The aerodrome features the UK’s oldest continuously operating control tower, and its grass runways remain in use today for general aviation, emergency services, and flight training. Over the decades, Barton has been a key hub for aviation activity in the region, making it a fitting location for Team UAV’s expansion into Manchester.
